Trials, Tribulations, Blessings, and the Holy Ghost

Life is hard sometimes. Yesterday Cris was laid off from his "new" job. This was because he was the low man on the totum pole and they no longer have enough work. It is so frustrating because we specifically asked them when he was trying to get the job "what would happen if they ran out of work" They said "don't worry about it, it wont happen" and lo and behold it did. So a small blessing that has come from this was a few weeks ago Cris decided to start looking for a 2nd job. Now he can go to full time there so we wont be out of work for more than one week. All in all, I really think the Holy Ghost was guiding us to look for the 2nd job in preparation for this. I am so glad we listened to that impression and are going to be better off for it, I know. I am so grateful for the Holy Ghost and what it brings to my life.

In Comparison:

Yesterday was Clarysa's 6M checkup. She weighed in at 16.8 lbs (69%) and was 27 in (91%). She is growing GREAT! She did fairly well with her shots. I never really like that part but she was really happy the rest of the day so it was kind of nice! I thought it would be fun to compare her and Cayten so here it is

Cayten Clarysa
Weight Height Weight Height
Birth: 7 lb 14 oz 20 in 7 lbs 7 oz 21 in
2 wks: 7 lb 8 oz 7 lbs 5 oz
2M : 12 lbs 0 oz 23.5 11.25 lbs 23.25
4M : 15 lbs 1 oz 25 in 14.5 lbs 25.0
6M : 17 lb 5 oz 27 in 16.8 lbs 27 in

I can't believe how close they are in everything they are doing. While talking to her Dr. he said she is very advanced for her age. She is already scooting and loves to get up on her knees but usually biffs it on her face. If she sees me across the room she can get to me in a hurry . . . specially if she is hungry! Dr. Odell asked me when Cayten started walking (9 months) and he said she is well on her way! I can't believe how fast they grow up. I was cleaning her room up a few days ago and I put her 0-3 month clothes away. I probably should put 3-6 mos up soon but she only has about 2 outfits for 6-9 months so we are stretching these outfits. Although I know I don't want another kid until Rysa is 2 or more, it made me almost cry thinking that in a few montsh she could be crawling, walking, talking, and becoming a toddler!
While we were at the doctor, Cayten wanted it to be his turn. He wanted him to look in his ears and everything. You would think that after having all the docs with his tonsils, he would hate them but he LOVES them. Dr. Odell gave him a sucker for being so good and helping his mom!

Today we had some friends come over (the Brungards). Colby is a soil analysis guy. We have been trying to dig a hole for our fence for weeks, we rented some stupid machine to dig them and it didn't even work. Cris told Colby about our problem and he came and helped us out. In a matter of 2 hours, Cris and Colby had dug 6-7 holes when last week with the machine Cris and our neighbor dug 3.

We are so blessed to have so many great friends. I really enjoy all the people around us!

Playing around

Pretty cool huh? I was playing around in photo shop. I still need some practice but it is really fun.

Life . . . UGH

WOW, sometimes when it rains it pours. I know it isn't much but it seems as if a lot of things have been going wrong lately. We can't get our fence in . . . it is really frustrating. It feels as if we are digging into cement. We rented a fence hole digger and still couldn't get through the ground. Cris is fed up and no longer wants to finish the dumb thing . . . so frustrating. Today while we were cooking dinner our microwave broke. Cris thinks he can fix it but I am pretty sure it will be going to its own grave soon. And then there are many more problems that are just little that end up adding up. UGH!
Does anyone have suggestions in getting your child to sleep through the night even if you are nursing? It is killing me. I would love to have one night of uninterrupted sleep. I think I could feel more invigorated to actually do something during the day. Well, those are my woes.

Overwhelmed

I made this headband today! yEAH!

WOW . . . remember 2 posts ago when I said I had printed off 870 pictures? It was the cheepest way but I now believe it was the MOST overwhelming way. As I look through these pictures and also remember back on my childhood pictures, I realize that mom's are always in the background. I really have NO pictures of me. I am always taking the pictures. I wish there were more of me but I can't help but LOVE the pictures we've got. I LOVE taking pictures. One of my biggest goals in life is to really get into photography. I have always liked it . . . it is just super expensive. Maybe when Cris gets to making the big bucks LOL.

Here are a few that I just took .

Running

Well, I am going to make it public so maybe I will actually do it? On or around October 10, 2008 I want to run a 5k. I have a program called from the couch to 5k on my Ipod. I am really excited to do this and I am hoping it will get me motivated to actually get into shape. I am loving our Wii. It is making it possible for me to work out with my children in the comfort of my cool home instead of the blazing heat outside. I will be waking up at 6:30 to run until 7:30 when Cris leaves for work. I am actually super excited about this. If anyone wants to join in and try to accomplish this goal with me, lets do it together!

The World Today

It is a very sad world we live in today. I had posted pictures of Rysa and bath time. There was a video and picture that showed her with her diaper off (duh, she was in the bath). I was told by numerous people that I should remove the pictures and videos or should put a blur on them. Why can't we just take fun pictures of our family's fun times with out stupid sickos out there? It is terribly sad. From now on I will not be posting pictures like that and hope to take more bath time pictures and be more careful about it.

Bath Time/ Sleep Time

Say Cheese: Cayten has a basketball at all times!

"Wash, Wash" Helping lil SIS!

"Splish, Splash, I be takin a bath"

I have no words for this picture LOL!

We LOVE TO SPLASH!

Rysa LOVES bath time. It makes it hard for a night time routine because she gets so excited but it is really fun. Cayten LOVES helping his sister bath and do anything. I can't believe how fast they grow. Clarysa is nearing 6 months and nearing crawling every day. She likes to babble and blow bubbles. She LOVES bananas and any other food you give her, although, she will NOT eat rice or oatmeal cereals so we moved to baby food a little early. I was really tired of her being so hungry she wanted to nurse every HOUR! ! !

Cayten is 2 1/2. He is such a smart and brilliant boy. He is one of the most polite little kids I have seen. We have a deaf neighbor so he knows a lot of sign language and it is really fun to see him learn more every day. Cayten is VERY independent as most toddlers are. He always says I want to do it myself. His newest saying is "Mommy, I love you too much". I think this comes from me saying "I love you so much" and "I love you too!" Such a silly boy.

Cris is finished with the training part of his job. He got his new work truck this week so that means I get the car when I need it. It also means we get a raise . . . I hope! He let me buy a Wii and Wii Fit yesterday. Really we bought 2 and hope to sell one on E-bay. We have been looking for a Wii for over a year so I was really excited. It is really fun and boxing is really a work out. I am looking forward to opening the Wii fit soon.

We are currently teaching the Temple Prep class in our ward. It is so much fun. It is really awsome to see these couples getting ready for the temple. It brings back memories of Cris, Cayten. and I going through the temple a little over 2 years ago.

As for me, I am up to nothing right now. I am trying to get back into scrapbooking but it is pricey. I was able to go to a yard sale today where they had a lot of stuff for scrapbooking so I grabbed a few things and I also sent 870 pictures to be printed from snapfish.com. I should be getting those by the end of next week.
