BIKES

Cayten has been working really hard at riding his bike today. We have only worked with him one other time about 2 weeks ago, other than that he has done this all by himself. Today I let him go outside and play in the garage/driveway so he could play on his bike. I went out to get the mail and he was riding it like a pro. Here is the video!

Memoirs and Insites

Today was a wonderful, yet sad day. An old friend of mine passed away today. We called him Grandpa Dell. My dad worked for him and his family on their farm when I was little and we continued to be friends after my dad decided to stop helping them on their farm. He was such a wonderful man. He was always joking and you knew he really cared about each and every person he came in contact with. I remember going to their house and having dinners, get togethers, and he always had a treat. I have many memories of him from saying He** and Da** at the pulpit during his testimony or prayers, to raising steers on his farm in the wee early hours of the morning. One of my fondest memories is the year I had a CRAZY steer. I had raised the steer all summer long but when we took him to the fair, he was a little crazy. He ended up getting loose from me and I didn't get to show him and sell him because I couldn't handle him. Because of this, my dad was going to have to pay for the steer because in all reality, I was in the hole about $100 to him with the short sale of the cow. In the end, he gave me $100 instead because he knew I had tried my best. He took a loss so I could learn and have a little extra $$$! I will really miss seeing him on the back row at church in my families ward and my thoughts and prayers are with his family.

On to a much lighter note . . .
Today I was able to spend the day with friends and go to the General Relief Society broadcast. It is amazing how God knows exactly what each one of his daughters need to hear. I love that the Spirit can teach our hearts even if what they say something different. I had a favorite quote that Pres. Dieter F. Uchtdorf said "The number of prayers we say will contribute to our eternal happiness, but the prayers we answer may be of greater importance."
I am grateful that I can be an instrument in God's hands as I watch those around me and tend to their needs as a Visiting Teacher and friend.
When we are thinking of talents, we tend to think of vocal, instrumental, artistic, or physical talents. I feel that a talent of mine would be to listen and know what to say to family and friends when they are in need of a friend. I am very grateful for this talent and I continue to try to strengthen it daily.
HF has found it necessary to give me a 3rd lady to visit teach. I am pretty excited about this. I don't know this sister. She is not a member of the church but has asked if she can learn about the gospel through visiting teaching. I hope I can be an instrument in God's hands and help teach his gospel and be a friend to this sister.
I love it when I am on a spiritual high like I am right now. I can't wait for general conference next week and hope to get on a much higher spiritual high!

To the right of this post you will see a cute embelishment of another blog here on blogspot. This girl is a fiction of our imagination. Her blog is pretty funny but she is totally a made up person. Now, after creating a fictional blog about the mormon way of life, she makes about $300/ad on her blog. I wish I could make this much money on my blog. Any ideas on how to be funny? I am such a down to earth person. Ya know when your siblings or anyone for that matter, make comments and you want to come back with some "comeback"? Well, the best my comebacks get is "oh yeah, well, well," that's all I have.

Speaking of a quarrell with a sibling, once when my sister and I were home alone, she made a very rude comment (to spare her the pain and agony of reliving this, I wont say what she said). As mentioned above, I have no comebacks in my brains dictionary so I looked all around me and on the counter by where I was standing was an apple. I chucked the apple at my sister and hit her right square in the head LOL. The apple EXPLODED! This means one of two things, 1. She is not an airhead after all, or 2. She is just very hard headed. :) So, after the apple was thrown, she stares at me, looks out the window to see my mom and dad pull in from grocery shopping, falls to the ground and starts whailing. Way to ACT Sis! I still love ya. This has to be one of the funniest quarrel memories we have. If you have siblings, I am sure you have some pretty funny memories with your siblings too! Oh, and BTW I have 3 Sisters and 1 Brother, can any of you guess which sister I hit?

Fourth and Fourth

I saw this post on some friends blogs: Go to your pictures folder, to the fourth folder and fourth picture. Post the picture and tell us a little about it.

This picture was taken the day we moved into our house(or soon there after). Cayten loved his new sister very much and so I took a picture of him giving her kisses.

Bus ride and more . . .

Every Tuesday morning at 9:30, Cayten, Clarysa and I hop on a bus to go to institute in Logan. We don't have an extra car so it beats having to take Cris to work, come home, and then go back out to Logan, come home, pick up Cris, and come home again! Here are some pics with our friends from the ward that go with us!

Funny things:

Clarysa has this really funny thing she does when she gets really excited. I wish we could have gotten some better pictures and vid but it is still pretty funny!

MIA

Sorry everyone, we have been MIA for a while. I spilled liquid on my keyboard and had to copy and paste the letters Q W E R T and Y. This was a very hard task since nearly every word has these letters. Cris's work had a few keyboards so they let us take one!

A few things going on . . . Clarysa is crawling and pulling herself up on things. She has even taken a few steps along furniture. It is pretty crazy. At her 6 month check-up her dr. said she was on the same track as Cayten which means . . . walking at 9 months! I don't know if I am ready for that but I sure do love that she is getting a little more independent. It is making my life a bit easier!

We are trying to teach Cayten his colors and are starting to wonder if he has a bit of color blindness. He knows almost all his colors but when it comes to red and green, anything red is ALWAYS green no matter how many times we correct him and tell him they are red.

Cris is preparing to take an actuary test in either November or February. Cross our fingers that whenever he takes this test, he is able to pass it on the first try. If he does, it means we are finally able to get onto the career road!

As for me, I am not up to much. I am trying to get into running. I am preparing to run a 5K and I am working my way up. All in all, at the end of 8 weeks I should be running a 5K in 30 minutes! This is my way of releasing my stress lately. It feels great but I don't know what will happen when it turns cold in just a few short weeks here. That is where I will be headed in about 30 minutes is running. I am also hoping this will get me on track to losing weight. I am learning all about eating healthier and stuff and I am doing a dang good job . . . no sweets at all this week!

Here are a few pictures from today and the other day. . .

Cayten and Clarysa were having fun in their homemade tent today. It is so fun to see them play . . . Cayten just takes Rysa under his wing.

We were playing outside last Saturday . . . a break from ALL DAY football. I wanted to take a picture of her crawling in the grass but anytime I tried she would move into the sitting position.

Question: Any ideas on how to get her to sleep through the night? What about actually falling asleep on her own since she takes no binkie or thumb. . . I have let her Cry It Out but now she sits up and just sits there and crys :(

Hang Loose

So, Cris, Cayten and I were having family time tonight. Rysa had already gone to bed. First, I kicked Cris's trash at Yahtzee, I barely beat him the first game, then I got one yahtzee the 2nd and won, and then the 3RD game, I got 2 YAHTZEES!!!! I was pretty stoked. Cayten and Cris then proceeded to jump all around and try to jump over objects. We also took some fun pics for family!

Temples

Yesterday was a very special day. We are temple prep teachers in our ward and one of our class members went through and recieved her own endowments. It was a neat experience to be there for her. We traveled down to Provo to go to the MT. Timpanogas temple. It is a VERY beautiful temple. I hope to go through at least all the temples in Utah and hope to go through many other temples too.

This was the first time I left Clarysa and I left her from 11:00-4:00. She did amazingly well. It sure makes me proud because she has been a relatively hard baby until now. She is starting to crawl. It is pretty funny to see and she likes to try and pull herself up on things. She doesn't make it very far but she like to thinks she is.

Cayten is such a great big brother. He is so cute with her and always likes to play with her. He gives her balls and try's to teach her how to throw them. She just laughs at him. He is getting so big. He is so smart but we are starting to think he might be a little color blind. He knows all his colors but red and he says red is Green ALWAYS.

Cris and I are working on putting our fence in. I REALLY need to mow the lawn tomorrow but I don't know if it will get done. I hope it does cause I know it wont happen on Tuesday.

Rain, Camping Trip

I didn't take any pictures so sorry to all who read this.

We left for our camping trip on Saturday morning. We had a really good time, although we camped in a desert. It was really fun getting with the family, even if there were a few run ins with arguments and stuff . . . isn't there with every family? We went on a four wheeler ride. I was terrified for my life . . . Cris went 30 MPH which isn't that fast but I don't like it that much. I have a few reasons as to why . . . 1. The first time (and last) I rode a motorcycle I clotheslined myself into our fence. It was not a fun experience. I know this is not a four wheeler but it still has me scared. 2. I rolled my car while falling asleep driving. Ever since if I tip in a car, four wheeler, or anything of that nature, I FREAK. So Cris talked me into driving, which I had vowed I would never do . . . I went 20 MPH! I was super excited. We decided to leave a little early so Cayten and Cris could play at Bear Lake. As we were driving out, we could see some monster rain clouds over that way. I really didn't want to go home, so we decided to drive through Randolph and Evanston and to Ogden to see Cris's family. And then comes the rain . . .

The rain clouds I talked about earlier caught up with us just as we were leaving Evanston. The speed limit on this road is 75 MPH. We had a few rain drops and it gradually got harder and then it was as if we were directly under a waterfall. Cris asked me to pray as he was driving around 30 mph and the Holy Ghost told me to pull over so we pulled off to the side of the road until it calmed down. I have NEVER been through rain like that. I was crying. Hind site, I wish I would have taken a video or some pictures but I was terrified. We ran into a few more issues with the rain where we had to drive pretty slow but it wasn't too bad. We could see as we came up on those areas, the road would be fine and then we would see a white line where the rain started. It was amazing. I am so glad we made it home safely. The rain gave our car a GREAT power wash after driving through the desert.

We are now at Cris's parents house and we are going to leave tomorrow morning. We had a great time doing all we could on this last summer vacation.
